What is Cosmic Monkey?
Web analytics built for indie developers, a real-time traffic dashboard, goals and funnels, a live visitor map, and traffic segments, all from one script.
How is this different from Google Analytics?
Google Analytics is built for marketing teams with dozens of metrics you'll probably never open. Cosmic Monkey starts with the handful of questions an indie developer actually asks, where visitors come from and what they're doing, with no sampling, no 24-hour delay, and nothing to configure before it's useful.
Can I query my traffic without SQL?
Yes, query your traffic in plain English from Cursor, Claude or your terminal via MCP. No SQL required.

How do I install it?
Drop one tracking snippet into your site's <head>. No SDK, no config file, no package to install, it starts capturing sessions within about 30 seconds.
Does it use cookies?
No. The tracking script is cookie-free, it stitches a visit together using sessionStorage and localStorage on the visitor's own browser instead, so most sites can skip the cookie-consent banner other analytics tools force on them.
Is Cosmic Monkey available yet?
Cosmic Monkey is currently in private beta. Join the waitlist and you'll get an invite as spots open up, plus a say in what ships next.
What will it cost?
Pricing hasn't been published yet, the product is pre-launch.
Is there a free trial?
Yes, paid plans are expected to include a 14-day free trial. If you don't cancel before it ends, the plan converts to a paid subscription at the rate shown at signup, per our Terms & Conditions.
Where is my data stored, and for how long?
Data is primarily processed in India, aligned with the DPDP Act 2023 and, for EEA/UK visitors, the GDPR. Analytics event data is retained for the period tied to your plan (3 or 12 months) and then deleted or aggregated, see the Privacy Policy for the full detail.
